As with many public sector organisations the council is currently reviewing the assets that it owns with a view to shrinking the size of its portfolio and significantly reducing the associated liabilities.

The council sees the partnership as an effective tool to assist with this as well as the potential to unlock value in other areas.

The partnership will very much be seen as a facilitating organisation giving the council more choice as to how it pursues its asset management and regeneration plans by examining and making proactive proposals in relation to the council's property. This will be supported by the partnership being consulted as an integral part of the councils acquisition, investment and disposal process”

The wider site presents a major regeneration opportunity for us to attract investment and create employment.
