Partnership working to develop short-term

Plans to develop the temporary car park site in Bridge Street, Stourport-on-Severn into much needed short-term residential accommodation, have been submitted by Wyre Forest District Council and Public Sector Plc.

The accommodation will consist of 18 en-suite rooms and will also include office space for staff.  The property will have a garden and its own car parking facilities as well as retaining some spaces for public car parking in the town centre.

The planning application reflects the Council’s priority of delivering ‘good quality and affordable homes for all.’

Councillor Fran Oborski, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and Capital Investments said,

“The Council’s Corporate Plan includes a priority on having good quality and affordable housing for all.  Through this development we can help deliver on this vision and we will take this new build as an opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint through the inclusion of renewable technology in the project.”

Corstorphine + Wright Architects who are working on behalf of the Partnership and being assisted by Q + A planning consultants, have designed the development to serve as an exemplar project within the Stourport-on–Severn conservation area.
